Artist's Description of Draped Sky

This painting uses realistically painted drapery forms that seem to float in space. There are two spatial levels of drapery, the one on the right framing the edge of the painting like a theatre curtain. The predominant use of various blues gives a sense of cool and quiet while the warm whites from a light source on the left indicate an interest from something beyond the picture plane. A sense of mystery and enigma is created by placing the floating sheets in a sky setting.
