Artist's Description of Ruth And Naomi
Purchase this painting
A commission from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints General Relief Society Board, this painting depicts the love and charity Ruth and Naomi share with each other by illustrating a possible scene where Naomi brings water to hot and thirsty Ruth who is working in the fields of Boaz gleaning wheat. The expression of love and gratitude on Ruth's face exhibits the qualities of the Relief Society theme, "Charity Never Faileth." The models for this painting were, in reality, a mother and daughter-in-law.
